Saturday, July 18th at 10:30 am, the public is invited to Morgan Outdoors in Livingston Manor, NY for a downtown birdwalk with Sullivan County Audubon member Lance Verderame. Lance is Audubon’s Field Trip Coordinator for the New York State Young Birders Club.

The walk begins at Morgan Outdoors, 46 Main Street and continues to Livingston Manor’s beautiful Renaissance Park along Willowemoc Creek. We’ll identify local birds by both sight and sound. Lance makes it easy and fun for beginners of all ages. You’ll be surprised at how many bird species can be found in the town center. Participants can bring binoculars, if they have them, and a notepad for field notes. To RSVP, call Lisa at Morgan Outdoors 845/439 5507.

An exhibit of Lance’s photographs is on display in Morgan Outdoors’ Catskill Park room from July 11 to August 16. Titled “Catskill Birds”, the photographs are grouped by the different habitats in which the birds can be found. From forests, grassland and fields to wetlands and backyards, all can be seen in Sullivan County. Locations of habitats are shown on an accompanying map to guide viewers to their own birding adventures.
