Many of you tell us you\u2019d like to hike to a fire tower . . . so we planned it all for you!<\/p>\n<p>This is the <strong>shortest<\/strong> trail to a fire tower &#8211; just 1.4 miles each way. Tree roots and loose rock on the trail but very manageable. We use hiking poles for the descent. You can rent Leki poles $5\/pair. \u00a0<strong>On the summit<\/strong>: picnic tables, the world\u2019s cleanest outhouse, a ranger cabin and, of course, the tower. A volunteer will have cab on top open for us. Gorgeous 360-degree views. Bring water, snacks, camera, hiking poles. Wear layered clothing to add\/subtract as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEET<\/strong>: at Red Hill Trailhead at 1:00pm. We supply driving directions when you RSVP.<\/p>\n<p>We leave Morgan Outdoors at 12:15pm: option to carpool.
