The 60-minute roundtrip walk, along a wide graded carriage road, begins <strong>promptly at 5:00pm <\/strong>to take advantage of daylight. The walk to the infamous Witches Rock, includes a little local history and a stop to take in the sunset and amazing fall views from an overlook. The variety of trees found on Walnut Mountain adds a colorful panorama along the way. The walk is a 1-mile moderate up hill climb.<\/p>\n<p>Walnut Mountain is a 265 acre Town Park which has been part of a recently-completed mountain bike trail system, built by volunteers of the regionally-based Renegades Mountain Bike Club.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a great opportunity to meet some of the Renegades volunteers and learn more about their contribution to Liberty Parks &amp; Recreation&#8217;s trail network.<\/p>\n<p>Meet at the baseball field parking area, using the William Pearson entrance at the end of Walnut Mountain Road (off Route 55, west of the village.)
