{"id":1897,"date":"2018-07-12T18:57:05","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T18:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/morgan-outdoors.com\/?p=1897"},"modified":"2018-07-12T18:57:05","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T18:57:05","slug":"senior-stroll-in-parksville-july-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/morgan-outdoors.com\/?p=1897","title":{"rendered":"Senior Stroll in Parksville July 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Wednesday, July 18<sup>th <\/sup><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>5:00pm<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Senior Stroll<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Folks <strong>age 60 and up<\/strong> are invited to come out and enjoy the <strong>Parksville Rail Trail<\/strong> in Parksville, NY. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW LONG?<\/strong> this stroll is a total of <strong>1.5 miles in length<\/strong> on a fairly level pathway along the Little Beaverkill, a tributary of the Delaware River. The hike\u2019s theme is our Delaware River watershed; participants will enjoy the scenic walk while learning a little about the watershed&#8217;s size and special qualities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEET<\/strong> at 5:00pm at the Parksville Rail Trail parking area, Main Street, Parksville, just off of Route 17 at Exit 98. There is a large trailhead sign at the entrance.<\/p>\n<p>This group outing is the 2nd in a <strong>monthly series<\/strong> aimed at engaging folks age 60 and up in group outings on several beautiful beginner trails in Sullivan County. The experienced trip leaders are Lisa Lyons of Morgan Outdoors in Livingston Manor and Glenn Horton of the Friends of Walnut group currently constructing an ADA accessible trail at Walnut Mountain Park.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders will help interested parties select the outings that best fit their physical capability. Participants should be able to walk 2 miles unassisted and have permission from their doctor if under medical care. <strong>Hiking poles available<\/strong> to use at <strong>no cost<\/strong>, with simple coaching on how to use them to improve stability and enjoyment.
