  • Folks age 60 and up are invited to a Senior Stroll on Wednesday, July 21 at 3:00 pm at the Parksville Rail Trail in Parksville, NY. It's a chance to enjoy one of the beautiful beginner trails in Sullivan County. The experienced trip leader is Lisa Lyons of Morgan Outdoors. This outing is 1.5 miles in length, on the fairly level former O&W railbed along the Little Beaverkill, a tributary of the Delaware River. Participants should be able to walk 1.5 miles unassisted and have permission from their doctor if under medical care. There will be hiking poles available to use at no cost, with simple coaching on how to use them to improve stability and enjoyment. Meet at the Parksville Rail Trail parking area on Main Street, Parksville, just off of Route 17 at Exit 98. There is a large trailhead sign at the entrance. (if using navigation: enter Cabernet Franks, Parksville NY and park to the left) REGISTRATION is required. Call Morgan Outdoors (845) 439-5507 by Tuesday,, July 20 or email [email protected]. The outing will be canceled if thunderstorms are forecast. SENIOR STROLLS OUTDOORS proudly participates in the Sullivan Club 180 Campaign.   • Wednesday, June 16, 3:00 – 4:00 pm Our first Senior Stroll of 2021 is at Walnut Mountain Park in Liberty, NY. This monthly series is aimed at engaging folks age 60 and up to come out and enjoy beautiful beginner trails in Sullivan County. The trip leaders are Lisa Lyons of Morgan Outdoors and Glenn Horton of the Friends of Walnut. This outing’s theme is the variety of ferns found along the ADA accessible trail that the Friends group constructed at Walnut Mountain Park. The outing is 1 mile in length, on fairly level ground, with a gentle ascent for a ¼ mile. Participants should be able to walk a mile unassisted and have permission from their doctor if under medical care. Future Senior Strolls will be different lengths and difficulty so that participants can find an outing that fits their ability level. REGISTRATION is required!
