Hike to Red Hill Fire Tower
Claryville, NY.
There are a few spots left so register soon. Many of you tell us you’d like to hike to a fire tower . . . so we planned it all for you!
This is the shortest trail to a fire tower – just 1.4 miles each way. Tree roots and loose rock on the trail but very manageable. We use hiking poles for the descent. You can rent Leki poles $5/pair. On the summit: picnic tables, the world’s cleanest outhouse, a ranger cabin and, of course, the tower. A volunteer will have cab on top open for us. Gorgeous 360-degree views. Bring water, snacks, camera, hiking poles. Wear layered clothing to add/subtract as needed.
MEET: at Red Hill Trailhead at 1:00pm. We supply driving directions when you RSVP.
We leave Morgan Outdoors at 12:15pm: option to carpool. RSVP to 845 439 5507.
