POSTPONED DUE TO WET WEATHER FORECAST!
Look for a new date later this summer!
Sunday, June 4th 12:00 – 4:00pm
Celebrate National Trails Day weekend
with a hike on New York’s longest trail – the Finger Lakes Trail (FLT)
co-sponsored by the Catskill Mountain Club and Morgan Outdoors.
Meet Rick Roberts,
the FLT Coordinator for the Catskill section (90 miles of trail),
and hike leader!
Rick constructed several connecting FLT trail sections in our area.
12:00pm Meet at Morgan Outdoors for a brief intro to the 580-mile Finger Lakes Trail, which passes through the Catskills just 10 miles north of the town.
12:30pm Drive to Balsam Lake Mountain trailhead to hike to Balsam Lake Mountain firetower, traversing a section of the Finger Lakes Trail.
HIKE: The hike (3.5 miles roundtrip) is a rock scramble ascent to the fire tower; MODERATE difficulty.
Great views at the summit.
BRING snack or lunch to enjoy on summit, water, sturdy boots, insect repellent. We rent Leki hiking poles (great for the hike back down!)
RSVP for both events by calling Morgan Outdoors at 845 439 5507 or email to [email protected] by Saturday morning at 10 AM.
The hike is optional.
